Retired naturalist Bill Sonnett will lead a group to Goll Woods State Nature Preserve.  The preserve,

http://naturepreserves.ohiodnr.gov/gollwoods, is likely the least disturbed woodland in northwestern Ohio and has some of the state’s largest trees.  Please arrive in time for a carpool to leave promptly at 9 a.m. from the Polly’s Country Market parking lot, 2119 Ferguson Road, Jackson (42.198482, -84.439890).  Store manager Hunter Sullivan said we are welcome to park east of the floodlights, the side nearest Summit Township’s offices.  Please consider offering to drive or be sure to offer gas money to your driver.

We will stop for a break at the Hudson McDonald’s (there are no facilities at the preserve), go to lunch at the Barn Restaurant in nearby Archbold, https://saudervillage.org/eat/barn-restaurant (where “the food was good and plentiful,” Bill remembers), and return to Jackson around 4 p.m.  If you would rather drive separately, meet us at the preserve, 26093 County Rd F, Archbold, 41.554518, -84.361622.
