  • 6:30 PM
  • Ella Sharp Museum 3225 S Fourth St., Jackson, MI

Expert birder and bander Allen Chartier will discuss his Great Lakes HummerNet project (http://www.amazilia.net/MIHummerNet/).  The undertaking gathers information about hummingbirds from volunteer observers throughout the state.

Allen bands hummers in several states and all species at an ongoing project at Lake St. Clair Metropark.  (Read his “Michigan Hummingbird Guy” blog at http://mihummingbirdguy.blogspot.com/.)  He will offer hints on how to attract hummingbirds to our gardens.  Allen is as knowledgeable and easy-to-listen-to birding speaker as you could ever hope to hear.

The meeting will be at the Ella Sharp Museum, 3225 Fourth Street, Jackson.  The museum parking lot is at 42.214086, -84.415868, off Oakwood Drive in Ella Sharp Park.

Meetings will begin with a social time at 6:30 PM with short meeting and program at 7:00 PM.

Bring recyclables (magazines, feeders, feeders, etc.) to the program.

Weather cancellation Policy: JAS programs and activities will be cancelled if Jackson Schools close.
