Michigan Fireflies at Haehnle

Join Katie Hietala-Henschell, Endangered Species Conservation Biologist for the Xerces Society to explore the beautiful nighttime display of fireflies and learn about firefly biology, how these amazing creatures are studied and the different species that can be spotted in Michigan.


We will meet in the parking area at the Phyllis Haehnle Memorial Sanctuary at 9011 Seymour Rd., Grass Lake, MI.


Please wear layers, protect yourself from mosquitoes, and bring a headlamp or flashlight with a red light setting. This event will be cancelled if it rains. Please check our Facebook page or calendar for updates.

Haehnle is located at the intersection of  Seymour Rd & Fairlane Dr, Grass Lake.
The sanctuary is across the street.
